Hull Integrity Test

Description: The Hull Integrity Test, or H.I.T., is the HMA's term for a gank attempt.

Purpose: There are two main functions of the H.I.T. First, is to remove a potential threat or competitor from the field. Second, is to bring attention to the presence of the fleet and engage the pilot in in a more direct and visceral way. Additionally, a H.I.T. may have the benefit of pulling Concord.

  1. Confirm if there is an HMA Fleet Active
    1. If so, verify with the bosmang that a H.I.T. is authorized on the pilot in question.
    2. If not, then authorization is implicit.
  2. Assess target and environment for likelihood of success.
    1. Is Concord on field? Has concord been pulled to another location?
    2. When possible, have the target scanned to obtain a more accurate assessment of their EHP.
    3. If necessary, engage additional enforcers.
  3. Confirm that Safety is Set to Red.
  4. Overheat your weapons.
  5. Do you have a Warp-In?
    1. If not, approach target until within optimal range.
    2. If so, wait until Warp-In verifies they are in position then warp/squad warp to target.
  6. Fire at will.
  7. Wait for Concord to destroy you.
  8. Warp to remote celestial
  9. Wait out Weapons Timer
  10. Dock
  11. Verify with bosmang if they would prefer Concord to remain on field.
    1. If so, wait out Global Criminal Cooldown (GCC).
    2. If not, pull concord.
  12. Send followup mail to target. Be sure to be kind and respectful as you are representing the HMA.
    1. If target was not destroyed, congratulate them on their Successful H.I.T.
    2. If target was destroyed, notify them of their Failed H.I.T.

Pulling Concord

Description: Pulling Concord is the act of engaging in a criminal activity so as to draw the attention of Concord.

Purpose: Pulling Concord allows you to manipulate the time it takes Concord to respond to a Criminal act. This will allow you to either increase the time available to you for a H.I.T. or decrease the time necessary to survive hostile gank attempts.

  1. If you already have a Global Criminal Cooldown (GCC)...
    1. Board a Rookie Ship.
    2. Undock.
    3. Wait for Concord to destroy you.
    4. Dock Up.
  2. If you don't already have a GCC...
    1. Login to a disposable alt.
    2. Make sure your safety is set to Red.
    3. Board a Rookie Ship.
    4. Target and shoot the nearest structure.
    5. Wait for Concord to destroy you.
    6. Dock Up.

Ship Scanning

Description: Ship scanning is the act of using a ship scanning module to assess the fit of a potential target.

Purpose: Ship Scanning is recommended as part of target assessment to allow for a more accurate determination of possible success of a H.I.T. . This can also be used to assess if a ship is a decoy or threat.

  1. Approach the target ship.
  2. Open simulated fitting for the Ship Type.
  3. Once in range, activate Ship Scanner module.
  4. Drag newly scanned modules into simulated fitting.
  5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until fitting is suitably complete.
  6. Drag fitting into Fleet Window.
    1. If desired, save for future reference. Recommend using tag [Intel]

Warp-In

Description: A Warp-In is a pilot who positions their ship for other's in fleet to warp to.

Purpose: The primary purpose of a Warp-In is to facilitate a H.I.T. by reducing the time necessary for the attackers to be on field before engaging. However, there are many situations in which it is useful to be able to directly travel to a point in space.

Note - Warp-Ins do not work inside of Deadspace sites.

  1. Position your ship at the desired point.
  2. Type www into fleet chat.
